As expected, Apple continues its streak of innovations as it introduces the M3 chip. This latest processor promises a remarkable performance boost, claiming to be twice as fast as its predecessor, the M1. Here’s what you need to know about the newest MacBook Pro M3 and iMac M3.
M3 iMac
The M3 iMac offers an 8-core CPU with up to a 10-core GPU. It also comes in 8GB, 16GB, or 24GB RAM options and storage capacities of 256GB, 512GB, or 2TB SSD. The M3 iMac maintains its iconic slim profile at 11.5mm, with a stunning 24-inch 4.5K Retina display featuring white bezels and a familiar chin. It also features 6x speakers supporting Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.
Beyond performance, Apple puts sustainability in mind with the iMac M3. It features 100 percent recycled aluminum in the stand. It also has rare earth magnets, recycled tin soldering in multiple PCBs, and, for the first time in an iMac, 10% recycled gold plating.
On top of all its amazing features, the M3 iMac is available in vibrant color options. You can get it in Yellow, Orange, Purple, Blue, Green, Pink, and Silver. You can also get a keyboard, mouse, and trackpad in matching colors!
Prices start at PHP 84,990 for the 8GB+256GB base model. The availability details for the Philippines are yet to be announced.
Apple Introduces M3 Chip for MacBook Pro
The MacBook Pro lineup also gets an upgrade with the M3 chip. The 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 claims to be 60% faster than its 13-inch M1 predecessor. Its battery life can last up to 22 hours! Meanwhile, the M3 Max model claims to have up to 11 times faster performance than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro models. Creativity apps like DaVinci Resolve can even perform better, with the M3 Max’s support for 128GB of memory.
For their hardware specifications, they’re largely similar to the previous release. However, the new MacBook Pro M3 features better displays capable of outputting SDR content 20% brighter, with a peak brightness of 600 nits. A new sleek Space Black color is available for both the 14-inch and 16-inch models.
